It's the weekend! (Well, almost). Today, one of my favorite blogs - Style Mutt Home is featuring a small tour of our apartment. Chelsea and Cate of Style Mutt Home are two of my favorite people to follow and I was so excited when I was asked to be part of their 'Spaces' feature. I would love for you to check out the tour here.

I have recently developed a love for handmade pottery. There's something so delightful about watching someone turn clay into functional pieces. I enjoy following the work of several potters and am always excited by their creations. For some time now, I have been following the work of Boston potter Jeremy Ogusky. Dine at some local Boston restaurants, and you might possibly be enjoying your meal from one of his handmade plates.

Often times, my wall shelves magically rearrange themselves. Does that happen to you? While I have failed to figure out what causes this unexplained activity, I sure enjoy this phenomenon. (which I have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with, in case you were wondering.)
Here are my 3 favorite ways to style shelves.

Since we are right in the middle of summer I have joined a group of talented bloggers to share how we refreshed our homes for the summer months (follow the links at the end). We all teamed up and decided to refresh one area at home, this summer. After all who doesn't love some redecorating, am I right?

A few weeks ago we visited the Margaret C Ferguson greenhouses in Wellesley College. It consists of 16 interconnected greenhouses ranging from tropical to desert glass houses, and can keep you entertained for hours. Located just outside of Boston, it is a must-visit for any local. The greenhouses are part of the Wellesley college, and was designed by a member of the faculty, Professor Margaret C Ferguson in the early 20th century.

This month Urban Jungle Bloggers Igor and Judith want to see our plant inspired table settings.
To be honest, my husband and I hardly eat at the dining table. We are risk-takers who prefer eating on the couch next to our creamy white rug. Also, back in India, we don't do very formal table settings. Meals are always a very casual affair.

There is a lot of dirt on the Internet about houseplants. Even with all this information out there, keeping plants alive is a daily struggle for me. So you would think I really wouldn't make it any harder for myself by bringing in rare, or dare I say - 'unknown' plants home, right? But yeah, that's what I did anyway.
A few weeks ago I was plant shopping and spotted what looked deceptively similar to a Pilea Peperomioide (PP). In case you are not familiar with this plant, this is a much sought after plant among indoor gardeners.

In case you haven't noticed, it is now totally cool for plants to hang out at home. (Pun intended). You might have seen this quote making the rounds on Instagram- Plant lady is the new cat lady.
A few weeks ago I joined a few other plant loving friends on Instagram, to show how we use plants throughout the home. It was just a fun way to share our photos (and Pothos), and encourage others to bring the outdoors in!

I am SO thrilled to tell you that our apartment tour is now on Design*Sponge!! Can you sense my excitement?
I have been a long time reader of Design Sponge, so it's truly surreal to see our home (and our faces!) on the website.
I would love for you to check it out here.

Every time I see a DIY project, I want to try it. Then I see another and I want to try that, then I see another .... you know where this is headed.
After a lot of seeing and no doing, I decided enough was enough and set forth to get my hands dirty. And I mean that literally. I remember reading somewhere that clay is the 'Material of the Moment'. Can't really argue with that, can you?

Today I want to share a simple art project which involves very little effort, except driving to the store! I promise.
I was looking for some large art for my dining nook. I was still recovering from my DIY efforts for the living room, so this time I couldn't muster the energy to make something.

I have all the heart eyes for Mudcloth. It's black and white - so classic. And it's geometric - I love a good geometric pattern. Mud cloth is an African fabric dyed with plant dyes and painted with fermented mud. Here's a great article on DesignSponge that talks about everything you need to know about Mudcloth. Read it, but come back won't you?

I have a thing for plants. It's mostly a one-way relationship. Anyway, I also love planters.
You could even argue that planters are the shoes to a plant. It may be the prettiest plant on the sill, but if it's strutting around in a plastic flip-flop, no one's looking at it.

When I was planning my Living room makeover, I wanted a tray for my new-to-me coffee table. I loved the slatted details of the coffee table and did not want to cover it up with an opaque tray. Instead , I figured an acrylic tray was the way to go. But those pretty things came with a hefty price tag. So a DIY version was in order and a bit of Pinterest-ing later, something came up.

The Monstera Deliciosa, aka Split Leaf Philodendron, aka Swiss Cheese plant has seen a recent surge in popularity. No other plant has captured my interest, as much as this one.

If you want to know how fast time flies, plan a makeover.
I have been planning a living room refresh since November. But there's something about not having a deadline, that drags a project for so long, that you almost forget you started it. Well finally, I am happy to say it's done!

Happy New Year dear readers! I wish you a Happy and Healthy 2016!
January sees no shortage of design trends. I love to read designers' predictions for the new year, but I also love to look back and evaluate which predictions held their ground the past year.
